Storage Solutions with mor-stor

Storage – there’s never enough of it IMO. It doesn’t matter if you’re a minimalist or a maximalist – we all need it and we all want more of it! Mor-stor was founded by a mother of two, whose search for nursery storage solutions left her frustrated with the lack of options available. With a range of storage cubes and handy baskets for the home, mor-stor want to make packing up fun and easy for everyone.

For those who don’t know mor-stor, how did your business come about?

‘Before starting my own business, I had a career sourcing furniture, home décor and storage for Australia’s leading home and lifestyle retailers. Whilst setting up a new nursery/bedroom for my baby 12 years ago, I wanted storage solutions that were fun and practical (without being covered in licensed prints or teddy bears) and I didn’t want to spend a fortune. So, I started looking into getting my own designs made up.’

What is your mission with mor-stor?

‘Being a lover of all things storage, my mission is to provide timeless and on-trend tubs, cubes, baskets and more that make tidying up fun for kids and parents.’

I like having storage that looks good enough to be on display!

Tell us more about the products in the range and what inspires your collections?

‘Our first range consists of practical storage solutions such as the large storage baskets which are great for things like soft toys and large toys (such as my son’s Nerf guns!). The baskets are coated inside, so they can also be used as a laundry hamper in the bathroom or wardrobe. Can you believe, 10 towels fit inside one of these tubs – that’s enough room for a lot of toys, too! We also have fabric storage cubes that come in a pack of two, available in four different patterns. We made these to fit the IKEA Kallax shelving units because they are such a useful piece of furniture, particularly for kids bedrooms and play rooms. I don’t like having everything open and on display, so in our home we use the storage cubes for toys and Lego and store our books on the top.’

What do you find the most rewarding aspect of owning your own business is?

‘Getting feedback from other mums saying they love our range. It makes me feel like I’m on the right track, knowing that someone else has the same ideas about kid-life and organised chaos like I do!

What is next for mor-stor that your customers and our readers can look out for in the future?

‘We are working on a range of baskets that can be used for both kids and adults. The material is a thick cotton rope that’s really chunky with leather look handles so it fits in with everything at home. I like having storage that looks good enough to be on display.’

(Mindfulness) Quote that best sums you up: ‘Mmmm, I have been known to say “You just need to ride the wave.” I say this because when things aren’t going well or it’s a tough time, it will pass because that wave will come and pick you up and move you forward.’
