Entrepreneur, Tracey Batt, is on a mission to promote healthy mealtimes, and make packing school lunch boxes easier and more fun!
From humble beginnings selling organic baking mixes at local markets, Tracey has evolved Adventure Snacks to an online store dedicated to kids lunch boxes, accessories, and family meal time products to inspire healthy eating. Tracey believes when kids eat well at school, they are more likely to be focused and able to concentrate on learning. She is committed to cutting through the misleading marketing out there around food to help educate families to make better choices.
The range features some of the most sought after brands on the market including Yumbox, Bbox and Replay as well as acting as a platform for other mum-led brands such as Montiico and Little Lunchbox Co.
With big plans to continue to grow Adventure Snacks (it’s already Perth’s largest lunch box store), manufacture her own exciting products and continue to source new products for the range, there is no question, Adventure Snacks is one to watch.
How did you start Adventure Snacks?
When my eldest son was a toddler, I was finding it hard to source healthy snacks for him, so was making a lot from scratch. This led to the idea of making healthier, real-food baking mixes – there was nothing like it on the market so I decided to take the plunge and develop my own. After a few years attending markets and events I really wanted to grow the online side to the store, so added some complimentary products like lunchboxes and accessories. This is when I fell in love with ecommerce and a few years later made the difficult decision to stop making the baking mixes in order to grow the online store. This was also the time I had my second son and attending markets was no longer an easy feat!
Tell us about any new products or upcoming releases?
We are always getting new products in from the various brand we stock. Apart from lunchboxes, we have a great range of picnic items and have recently got the new Kollab Holiday Collection in. This month we will get a new range of Yumboxes, as well as the Little Lunchbox Co bento Three+. Lots of our brands love releasing new colours and designs at least once a year so there’s never a dull moment!
What is the most rewarding part of owning your business?
Knowing that I am making a difference to other families – whether that’s through our products making life easier, helping to promote other female-owned brands, or being able to provide family-friendly and flexible employment.
