One of the greatest pleasures when designing a bedroom for your child is letting their personality shine.
Whether it’s the colour choice, soft furnishings, or tiny trinkets, we love to create a space that reflects the tiny human whom inhabits it.
Such is the case for Avery, a bubbly four-year-old whose room we are very excited to share this week.
Styled by mum, Amelia Stanton owner of UrbanBaby, the room, like Avery, is bright and shiny. Enjoy!
TELL US ABOUT THE OWNER OF THIS ROOM
Avery is four – she is happy, has a great sense of humour and is very outgoing. I wanted her room to reflect her personality.
Like other four year olds she loves unicorns, princesses and rainbows. We wanted to create a bedroom where she could happily play as well. She has no trouble falling asleep when she is tired, therefore having bright and colourful décor in her room wouldn’t impact her going to sleep at the end of the day.

UrbanBaby is an online store which range includes beautiful essentials, hand selected gifts and designer furniture, right from pregnancy till preschool age.
WHAT WAS THE BRIEF FOR THIS ROOM?
Bright and happy – a bedroom which also functions as a playroom.
WHAT WAS YOUR INSPIRATION?
Avery’s personality. She is funny, very outgoing and happy. We wanted her room to reflect that.
HOW DID YOU SELECT YOU COLOUR PALETTE?
We chose Oeuf furnitures for Avery because we love the simplicity of the design and the quality of the pieces.
What we love about Oeuf is that it is so timeless and can be adjusted with any design/décor due to its neutral and classic design. We knew that we want her room to be bright, happy and loud and we achieve this by adding colourful items to her room.

Mini Library – great for displaying beautiful books, and bits and pieces and also has storage compartments to keep clutter away

In creating the room – none, as the majority of the items are stocked at UrbanBaby.
Afterwards – keeping it tidy.
WHAT IS YOUR OVERALL FAVOURITE THING ABOUT THIS SPACE?
We love that this room is really bright and happy and we love that this room functions as a playroom as well as a bedroom.
