Ubabub is a standout when it comes to modern nursery furniture. With a progressive design aesthetic, their pieces are distinctive and will stand the test of time. Made from quality renewable and recyclable materials, Ubabub cots, furniture and accessories are durable and ecologically friendly, both elements being super important to new parents looking to make sustainable choices for their little one.

Founded by parents Natasha and Daniel Dumais, “We decided to put our creative skills to the test and develop a nursery range that reflected our personal style but was also functional and most of all safe” says Natasha,

They became a family of six in December last year, welcoming their fourth child, a little boy into the fold. (We cannot wait to see pics, what a lucky boy!). For now, we chat with Natasha about the brand and how it came to be; and she shares her most defining parenting moment which is oh so sweet and this gorgeous maternity shoot, taken before the arrival of their baby boy.

Ubabub has been designing modern nursery furniture since 2007

Safety, visibility and security was paramount for their new baby, so the acrylic cot design was born. With a disruption-free view and perfect airflow, the unique design ticked all the boxes when it came to comfort, safety and freedom.

“I loved that I could see Sabine in her Nifty Clear cot without having to peer over and risk waking her. It helps to know, as a very active baby, she was protected and wouldn’t get her arms caught in between the bars. Most of all I loved how she can see the world around her.” explains Natasha.

FROM LITTLE THINGS, BIG THINGS GROW

Ubabub continues to expand their modern nursery furniture brand in Australia and beyond – Natasha continues “We proudly launched Ubabub in the USA & Canada back in 2013 via the Million Dollar Baby company and happy to say it is still going strong there. Our sister company Ubabub International in Australia is also now the exclusive Australian distributor of popular USA-based nursery brands: Babyletto, Nursery Works & DaVinci and these brands are available right across Australia – via Baby Letto.”

The Ubabub family is also growing

“That’s us in these photos with our three adorable girls Bianca (13), Sabine (10) and Uma (8). Our life, probably like yours, is full of love, laughs and LOADS of chaos. Mind you, we wouldn’t have it any other way!

We are all excited beyond belief and cannot wait to share the news of our little bundle of joy when he arrives and of course show you what his nursery looks like. In between all of this, we’re with our ‘other’ baby Ubabub, busy designing thoughtful products for you to be inspired by.”

(Design style) Less is more or more is more:

“Mid-century Modern meets Modern Eclectic.
Dreamy Colour combinations, sophisticated textures and quality materials.”

(Netflix/TV) Can’t switch off:

“Just finished Mindhunter. Whoa.
Next in line: Killing Eve and for a bit of fun GLAM (Glamorous Ladies of Wrestling!)”

(Motherhood) Defining parenting moment:

“Being pregnant with our fourth darling and having our three girls Bianca (13) Sabine (10) Uma (8) share in the thrill and joy of comprehending the excitement of pregnancy. Also having them do their best in trying to help us around the house whilst I’ve been pregnant has been so beautiful. This year they’ve all learnt how to cook a few dinner recipes, sort themselves out from whoa-to-go in the morning and make their own school lunches. They’ve even mastered using the washing machine these past few weeks.”

(Family) Hoping your baby boy will bring:

“Hoping this boy will bring some true perspective on joy, life, love and family.”

(Post partum) Can not wait for:

“To get back to some regular Vinyasa flow yoga. Have missed this so so much.”

(Mindfulness) Quote that best sums you up:

“My mission is life is not merely to survive, but to thrive; and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humour and some style.” – Maya Angelou
