Inspiring children's interiors
By Kate Rabbitt
Christine Rose is a mother of two and the stylist that created this restful space for her daughter Miller. With a calming palette of fresh white and neutral tones, the room oozes effortless style.
This is not Christine’s first time on the blog, her son Asher’s bedroom was recently featured (you can check that out here). It’s easy to see how the two rooms work in harmony with the rest of the home’s relaxed resort-feel. Let’s show you around!
“To make a little girl’s space that was full of pieces that were not in your traditional nursery. Because I knew the room was going to change again in the next couple of years, I choose pieces that could be used again in a big girl’s bedroom.”
“Miller is my second baby and after having a boy, it was great to style a space for a little girl. My inspiration came from the rest of the house and ensuring a lovely flow between the two rooms without compromising the playful space for the kids.”
“I knew I was having a girl and the Coco Doll by Little Peach and Pip was the first girly thing I bought. I wanted the nursery to be girly but still neutral and calm. By keeping the canvas blank, I have brought in colour through linen, books, and toys. Keeping a neutral colour palette means that I won’t have to change it too much when she transitions into a bigger bed.”
“I found the twined wall art unexpectedly at a coastal store years and years ago. It’s something I’ll never get tired of looking at.”
“I really focused on using good quality furniture pieces that I really loved, which makes them more precious, timeless and not wasteful.”
“I love the walk-in wardrobe. Every girls dream, right! I worked on the joinery with our cabinet maker for the whole house as I wanted it to be consistent (the more storage the better!).”
