Felicia Palanca started dancing at the age of three, before joining the Australian Ballet at the age of 16. As a Senior Artist she travelled the world dancing in classic ballets such as Swan Lake and The Nutcracker. Along with her love of dance, Felicia took a special interest in the costume department. She would spend hours with the Costume Manager pouring over the incredible fabrics and details of each outfit. After retiring from professional ballet, her passion and first-hand experience informed the next step in her career; working as a designer with a leading international dance brand before making a move to start her own business, Flo Dancewear.
Going Solo
Following the arrival of her daughter in 2006, Felicia created her own label of dance-inspired pieces for children and babies. “When I was younger, dancewear was very expensive, so I wanted to make pieces that were affordable and beautiful.” The Flo Dancewear range includes leotards, tutus, dresses, ballet shoes and accessories. These pretty little pieces are perfect for ballet classes, parties or twirling around the lounge room. We are thrilled to share the launch of the Baby Ballet range from Flo Dancewear!
Tiny Dancers
Taking centre stage are the adorable Baby Sequin Tutu and Baby Ballet Tutu Dress. Featuring a super-soft LENZING™ ECOVERO™ viscose leotard, it also has a snap closure for quick nappy changes, and super soft tulle which won’t scratch delicate skin.

Tutu Time
Your budding ballerina might just be taking their first steps or maybe starting their first dance class, so here are some tips from Felicia. “Comfort is key! Ballet shoes are essential (socks are too slippery and shoes are too stiff). Look for ballet shoes that are made of leather and suede for the right about of grip and resistance. A well-fitted leotard with separate tutu or a tutu dress offers little ones the freedom to move comfortably. The Flo Dancewear Tutus are a layered powder puff tutu in soft tulle, giving the skirt more movement; perfect for little dancers to twist and twirl.”
