I don’t know about you, but I am a homewares addict. And cushions are my crack. In every room of the house. What does this mean for my baby? Every night* I remove 2 (ok, 5) decorative cushions from the cot. And every morning I put them back in. It’s quite laughable the lengths we go to for our desired aesthetic. But also so important we put safe sleep guidelines in place when we are designing these spaces for our most precious.
So, where was I…? Oh my eternal quest for the perfect room…and how it all started with my beautiful mum. My mum loved homewares (proving it is genetic**) and would regularly surprise my sister and I with mini room makeovers. We’d come home from school, run to our rooms to dump and bags and be delighted to find mum had been at work! A new doona cover, print on the wall and few (of my favourite) decorative cushions would completely transform the space. A new room! Yay!
Mum was also a stickler for the classics… Sheridan was a brand so prominent in our home we could have easily created a seasonal catalogue. It seems this love is also genetic. And can I say, the new Sheridan Baby Collection does not disappoint!
Right on trend, the Sheridan designers have drawn inspiration from classic Australian imagery; the unique creatures that inhibit our bushland and backyards to create a range from bed linen and towels to room decorations, toys and clothing. Playful hooded towels, onesies, toys and heirloom pieces such as pram blankets feature hand painted and drawn illustrations of baby animals unique to Australia.
But perhaps the best thing about it – Sheridan are the first official bed linen partner of Red Nose ensuring the safest nights sleep for little ones.
Sheridan is proudly the first official bed linen partner of Red Nose, with safety and quality at the fore of every piece we lovingly create in the Sheridan Sydney Design Studio.” Jo Jaggs, GM of Design, Sheridan
So, the tradition will continue in our home. Regular mini room make overs will continue. The obsession with Sheridan will continue. And we can all sleep at night knowing we have done everything we can to create a safe a beautiful sleep space for our little loved ones.

*who am I kidding, my baby has slept in his cot a handful of times since birth! Luckily for those us that embrace the night time cuddles theses safe sleep guidelines cover co-sleeping too!
** Ok maybe a little loose on the scientific evidence…but it’s enough for me.
