There is a reason I love our Real Room Tours. They share real people creating incredible spaces in their homes – liveable, practical and beautiful spaces. They inspire and motivate us to achieve new heights on our children’s rooms.
Noah’s room is no exception. Created and styled by his Mum, Tiarn Campbell, the Scandinavian inspired palette creates a calm and warm environment for Noah to play and grow. The styling is a beautiful tribute to small business and the cubby bed a triumph of love and hard work.
I love this room and have admired it often on Instagram. It’s a pleasure to share it you all along with Tiarn’s top tips, Insta-crush go-to’s and vision for creating this joyful space.
TELL US ABOUT THE OWNER OF THIS ROOM:
“My little guy Noah Ash is the owner of this bedroom and when creating this room I tried to make it fun for him to play in as well as functional and stylish. I feel like we achieved this quite easily. Noah is quite the little ‘builder’ right besides his dad so when we built his ‘big boy bed’ is helped in all sorts of ‘unhelpful’ ways – haha.
Once it was all complete he thought this bed was the best thing he has ever seen and because he created it together with his dad he loves sleeping in it. I created a little ‘book nook’ in the crate section of the base of the bed, with a fun car rug for play and functionality and little wooden toys throughout the room. The PLAY print emphasises what we want this space to be for Noah, a creative and playful space which suits his personality to a T.”
WHAT WAS THE BRIEF FOR THIS ROOM?
“I chose my own brief of Neutral Scandi. Lots of white grey and natural wood so as Noah grows his bedroom can keep up with him by adding in certain pieces.”
WHAT WAS YOUR INSPIRATION?
“Noah was turning 2 and needed a ‘big boy bed’ so through lots of research for functionality we mixed in our style (we stuck to the same theme we have throughout the rest of our house) and we kept it neutral.”
HOW DID YOU SELECT YOU COLOUR PALETTE?
“It ran with the rest of our house, lots of neutral. Greys, whites, wood.”
WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE FEATURE IN THE ROOM AND WHY?
“Defiantly the Cubby Bed, Noah helped build this little bed and it was made out of crates for the base and lots of love for the rest of it! It’s a very personal piece for us.”
WHAT WAS THE BIGGEST CHALLENGE IN THIS TODDLER ROOM?
“Building the bed! Took a couple of weeks, but we got there in the end and lots of our love went into it.”
WHAT IS YOUR OVERALL FAVOURITE THING ABOUT THIS SPACE?
“The colour palette and how it all looks to just flow with each other, all of the little bits and pieces we collected over time.”
