Nestled in the heart of his family home, and beside the room of sisters Freya and Sybilla, Hugh sits contentedly atop a new Plyroom bed. His newly refurbished room has become an oasis that will suit the 8 year old now as well as into his teenage years.
Designer Belinda from Petite Vintage Interiors was originally consulted to design the room of his sisters; an award winning space that recently made the Australian House and Garden top 50 rooms of 2014. So when Hugo requested her services, mother Rosemary was only too happy to make the call.
“The room already had an incredible world map mural with markings from their family travels” says Belinda.
“We then worked to create a space with a warm industrial vibe, but one which was also personal to Hugh.”
Statement pieces such as the Blacklist Studio wall banner and custom-made pipe desk from Raw Sunshine Coast were complimented with bedding from Aura Home and Pony Rider.
Belinda then worked to source stylish yet functional accessories giving the room a warm and inviting vibe.
“I love the really personal items like the photo taken of Hugh on holidays which we had enlarged and framed for the wall…the entire room has a real wanderlust theme which suits this family and their love of travelling so well.”
